Daniel Pink lists a heap of ideas for developing your own new mind, including joining a laughter club. His other great work is "Free Agent Nation"...part of the *aCE talentNET* revamp is to be able to support such Free Agents in the very near future....a highly recommended read. The annual ASIA HRD Congress 2005... aCE POLSON was represented at the ASIA HRD Congress in Kuala Lumpur this year. It was well attended by about 500-600 delegates, with participants mainly from Malaysia, but a good contingent were from the Middle East and Brunei – both with significant opportunities for training. We had a stand in conjunction with AusTrade which worked really well. Reg and others on the stand were kept very busy. AusTrade were a first point of contact for Australian consultants in Malaysia, and aCE POLSON is the best contact for Australian consultants in Australia. The best prospects appeared to be from the Middle East and Brunei where Consultants from Australia are well regarded in comparison to those from the USA and United Kingdom. The exercise was a great profile for *aCE talentNET* (nee aCE POLSON) and which will hopefully give us some good leads, which we can in turn convert....so stay tuned if you would be interested in working on foreign shores! If coaching is part of your service offering, or if you’re curious to hear about what research in the area is uncovering, consider the 2nd Australian Evidence-Based Coaching Conference at Sydney University on October 8/9 2005. While the approach is more academic than commercial, the last one, 2 years ago, offered some interesting insights. It also gave some ideas on ways to provide new services to Clients. For a more commercial/practical approach, try the International Coaching Federation conference on September 29 & 30 2005. New research shows what many of us already knew – when Clients are in a good mood, they’re more likely to trust us, buy from us or be helpful. This has implications for the sort of stories we build, the way we open a sales call, or we psych ourselves up when meeting new clients, especially if we’ve just had a parking ticket, an argument with the post office or something similar! His other great work is "Free Agent Nation"...part of the aCE talentNET revamp is to be able to support such Free Agents in the very near future....a highly recommended read.

The annual ASIA HRD Congress 2005...

aCE POLSON was represented at the ASIA HRD Congress in Kuala Lumpur this year. It was well attended by about 500-600 delegates, with participants mainly from Malaysia, but a good contingent were from the Middle East and Brunei – both with significant opportunities for training.
