Train! Train! Train! (Growing people outperform stagnate
people in terms of attitude and output--by a wide margin.)

Well only 25 sleeps until Christmas, or perhaps just as important, our Christmas Holidays?!  There are many that will be pleased to put this year behind us and look forward to better fortunes in 2010.  But if you are reading this, then that says you are still interested and passionate about all things HR, L&D, OD etc and therefore congratulations are well in order for surviving a 'annus horribulus' year (to quote Liz).  aCE talentNET has already held many conversations with clients about their plans in 2010 and we are quietly optimistic about opportunities and projects in 2010.

We will be using the Christmas downtime for activities such as the obvious recharging our batteries and spending time with our families and friends but also collating the results of our Consultant Survey (thank you to all those that participated), planning our business/marketing activities for 2010 and be ready to hit the ground running mid January.  We encourage you all to do the same (and in that order too!!!)... this would be a good opportunity to review the aCE BLOG and catch up on some reading, plan your business/marketing activities for 2010 Plan that website and ensure you are registered on the iFindConsultants (previously named ExpertMagnet) database as a means to link into project opportunities in the market.

Have a great Christmas and New Year Everyone!!!

Deirdre

  • What Makes Top Sales Performers Great?
Here is some latest research by Jerry Cahn of Extraordinary Sales Performance (ExSP) in the US. It's worth considering this list to cogently discuss with your team as there is a clear shift in performance figures from 2008 to 2009. (Thank you Elliot Epstein )... The initial ExSP benchmark study was completed during March and April 2009. Seventy-five U.S. companies with $500 million or more in annual sales were represented with the study completed by SVPs, sales directors, and sales managers. According to Jerry Cahn, managing director of the Extraordinary Sales Performance Institute (ExSP), the answer lies in your top performers.  Read on
  • How to Be Positive … When Things Suck
As penned by Kathrien Ahn for "ChangeThis"
Sometimes life comes up from behind you and kicks you in the rear, which is how it tells you that you're supposed to be moving in an entirely different direction. Maybe you're fighting a losing battle in a relationship or career. Maybe you've neglected your health, and its coming back to haunt you. Whatever it is, we're all born with talents, and some of us have chosen to pursue them and some have preferred to stay in the ‘Safe' zone. In tough times, you have to dig deep because all the extraneous layers are stripped away and you're faced with a decision. Go for it or not? It's up to you. Read on

  • Learning Organisation Curve…
As reported by Rebecca Turner, for the deal magazine October 2009
When Peter Senge first talked about the learning organisation in the early 1990's, information technology was yet to revolutionise the modern office. This episode of BBC Radio 4's In Business shows how social networking is transforming Senge's concept and includes examples from the BT Group and Sun Microsystems. Very interesting listening .
