brokering
edge

This month has rushed by, a little like the promised rainfall!  Opportunities keeping our clients and consultants busy have been in the areas of change management, facilitation, team building and leadership development.

We are pleased to report that the steady stream of interest in aCE talentNET's consulting and brokering services continue, albeit lead times for decisions are longer than they once used to be, particularly as the need to maximise budget effectiveness appropriately continues.  Interestingly, some of our clients are still getting to grips with our FREE brokering service, not sure how this works.  Simply put, aCE talentNET  adopts the following simple steps to engage talent to drive organisational development results for large organisations:

  • uses it's expertise in marketing and business development to identify opportunities for our talent network
  • aCE talent network are happy to subsidise this cost by offering wholesales rates to aCE talentNET
  • client then receives the standard retail or public rate that would have been negotiated had the client worked direct with the consultants.

Consequently everyone is happy, particularly Client's who are able to save significant time and money by outsourcing the identification, qualifying, shortlisting & selection process for consultants and contractors.  There are NO strings... not only that, but by using aCE talentNET consultants, clients will be dealing with people that have "been there done that", in that we have actually held positions in OD, L&D, HR and training... can your other partners say the same thing?  If you're not sure, talk to us or better still, simply put us to the test.

Happy Consulting

Deirdre

webpoll
Thank you to all who responded to our web poll. With a majority of people getting their information from a number of different sources, we have designed the next web poll question to assist us to ensure that our articles continue to add value to our growing readership.  We are dedicated to bringing you articles of interest regarding best practice, emerging trends and comments from thought leaders.   So this month's question is: "What newspapers/magazines do use to keep yourself current with Organisational Development strategy and issues ?"

  • According to a new study, most employees have to change their behaviour and personalities to fit in at work.
The Vodafone report Changing Faces: How we adapt our identity at work is based on research into the British working population. But its findings would, more or less, apply here too.

According to the study, 58 per cent of all employees say they change their personality and identity to some extent when they come to work. The ones most likely to do it are men, the divorced, junior managers and people working for organisations with 51-250 employees. It's most commonly found in the media (!) and marketing. Least likely among women, the married, skilled manual workers and those working for organisations with up to 50 employees and who don't have to deal with clients.

It also applies to bosses with four out of five (79 per cent) saying that adopting a "work-only" identity helped them get to the top and 12 per cent saying they had rejected their own personal values to succeed.

Potentially, this can be scary stuff when you consider how much work has come to dominate our lives, and that so many people take their work home with them. If that's the case, it would have to have some sort of impact on non-work relationships and life in general.
  • Top 5 reasons why "The Customer is Always Right" is wrong!
Basically, it makes employees unhappy, it gives bad customers an unfair advantage, some customers are just bad for business and plain wrong, and it can actually result in worse customer service.
  • Are you a bad Customer?
It depends on your definition. But too many returns or a history of staff harassment may get you locked out of good deals or better service.
