Hello and welcome to the July edition of  the "Professional Edge"
p
roudly brought to you by aCE Resources
www.aceresources.com.au

The Professional Edge is aCE Resources' way of communicating to you on a quarterly basis. For regular updates, be sure to continue visiting the web site (noted above). Even though we will still advise by phone and/or email of short turnaround items, for long standing, ongoing requests, the web site is the best source.

Given that we are only as good as the feedback we receive (and therefore act on)we welcome any comments from your good self which will be graciously accepted as to the format and content of the Professional Edge.

Along with the many exciting opportunities that have developed and are noted here and/or on www.aceresources.com.au, we have also sourced some wonderful reading to expand your consulting horizons. The authors of the articles noted below are all contactable through aCE Resources.

Enjoy!
  • As we are always looking for great consulting resource, any referrals will be treated professionally so please be assured that if you refer your colleagues to aCE, will we support both of you equally well.

  • aCE Resources is looking to have representation in Sydney again, there are many ways this can be done and many conversations that need to be had so if you are at all interested, please advise.
  • Better late than never ........ Quick review may cut SME's tax bill
Why give more money to the tax man than you have to? By Mark Fenton-Jones of The Financial Review
  • For those of you who attended the " Waite Group Creative Careers Twilight Seminar" in both Melbourne and Sydney, you will agree that they were both very entertaining and informative. We will continue to advise you of outstanding events where we believe they will be of value to you in your professional development and consulting career.
  • To that end, expand your consulting world by checking out the following articles: ........
        • Why do some clients take so long to make decisions? Some clients "buy" an idea and put it into practice immediately. Others take a bit of coaxing. Why does this happen?

http://www.themosnetwork.com.au/TMNProfDevp.htm

        • Reflections on the Natural Art of Consulting - how do we name our work and articulate our art in simple terms that impart meaning to those who scratch their heads and wonder what possible value we consultants add to the life of an organisation?
        • Business Schools teach market share and not profitability. The theory is that, if you have market share, the profits would take care of themselves. As we know, things are more complex than that. Today you have to do profit thinking.
Download "The Art of Profitability" as a free e-book by going to www.mercermc.com and clicking on "Our Books". The download option is on the first page.

On a sad and humbling note, our condolences go to the friends and family of Sheila Roberts who prematurely and permanently left us on the 29th July 2002.

As always, we look forward to your comments!

Cheers
